Travel into the Past at Assiniboine Park Zoo

For over a century, Assiniboine Park Zoo has spearheaded conservation efforts and promoted appreciation and respect for animals among visitors from across Canada and the world. From now through October, the zoo has added an exciting new exhibition that reaches across time to connect animal enthusiasts with creatures that most have fantasized about at since childhood: dinosaurs. Travel back to the prehistoric era as you wander through a Cretaceous forest inhabited by 16 life-size animatronic dinosaurs, including the fierce Tylosaurus pembinensis, which once dominated the waters of Manitoba. You’ll see how these predators of land, sea, and air would have moved millions of years ago through their natural habitat. Children will also have the opportunity to experience a special excavation site that will show them a day in the life of a paleontologist.
