I’m coming to The Fort Garry Hotel, where can I park?

Valet Parking

Valet Parking is available for $30/night, plus taxes. Please check-in at Front Desk to arrange Valet Parking

Self-Parking

The Fort Garry Hotel has a Lower Parkade off Garry Street through the green garage door, and an Upper Parkade off Garry Street – up the ramp.

Lower Parkade:

  • The height restriction is 6′ 3″.
  • Offers 2 Tesla-only charging station.

Upper Parkade:

  • The height restriction is 10′.

Note: Our parkades are not ideal for oversized recreational vehicles or vehicles with attached trailers.

Self- Parking at The Fort Garry Hotel is free for the first hour, and $3 an hour after that.

Over Night Self- Parking is $22/night, plus taxes.

If the parkade is full:

  • There is street parking available at the going city rate for the time of day.
  • Fort Garry Place – located behind the hotel – offers parking, for an hourly rate. Enter their parkade via the back lane behind The Fort Garry Hotel via Garry Street.

There are 3 ways to pay for parking:

  • By Cash: at the Front Desk only
  • By Credit or Debit card:
    • Upon exit to the parkade, follow the prompts on the payment machine – insert your ticket, followed by your payment card. Once approved, the arm will raise.
    • At the Paystation in the lobby, located by the Upper Parkade, follow the prompts on the Paystation and use your paid ticket to exit the parkade.

 

Is your hotel Accessible?

Entering the hotel

The Fort Garry Hotel has street-level entrance on Fort Street with a ramp to the lobby.

The Fort Garry Hotel also has a Lobby Level entrance via the Upper Parkade – by driving up the ramp off Garry Street to our back door.

We have elevators that can take guests from the Lobby all the way up to the 10th floor Spa, or down to the Lower Level to The Club Room.

We have a range of accessible guestrooms with features that allow for a comfortable stay. Whatever your needs are, our team is happy to accommodate.

What is your Pet Policy?

The Fort Garry Hotel is a cat and dog friendly hotel, accepting small to medium-sized dogs up to 50lbs.  A maximum of 2 pets per room are permitted.

A Deep Clean Fee of $25 CAD per pet per day will apply.

Service Animals are exempt from the Deep Clean Fee.

While staying at The Fort Garry Hotel, the following Pet Policy will apply:

  • Pets or Service Animals will not be left unattended in a guest room unless left in a kennel.
  • Noise complaints resulting in unattended pets could result in compensation to disrupted guests at the cost of pet owner.
  • Any damage caused to the room furnishings, bedding and/or carpet will result in damage fees based on repair costs.
  • Pets may join their families in the Lobby Lounge only for meals, but are not permitted in Oval Room Brasserie, the Fitness Centre, Ten Spa nor any ballrooms or meeting rooms.
  • Pets must be on a leash in all public spaces.

 

Do all your guestrooms have street views? 

The Fort Garry Hotel guestrooms have views from all sides, including views of the indoor courtyard. Requests for street views, views of The Forks and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights can be made by contacting our reservation team, but are not guaranteed until check-in.

Do your guestrooms have fridges and microwaves in them?

Our Suites have complimentary mini-fridges. For our Standard rooms, mini-fridges are available upon request – subject to availability.

Do you have any Ten Spa & Hotel packages?

Not at this time.
However, Ten Spa guests receive 15% off our Best Available Rate for a hotel guestroom, the night of their Ten Spa appointment. A link for the discount is included in Ten Spa’s appointment email confirmation.

 

Do you still have Live Music at the hotel?

Yes, we do!

From June – September approximately, we have live music on our Sunset Terrace patio – on Wednesday – Saturday nights. Follow us on Instagram to learn more! www.instagram.com/thesunsetterrace

From September – June, our Club Room on the Lower Level is home to Jazz Winnipeg Concert Series on Sunday nights, and Jazz Winnipeg Residency Series on Wednesday nights.

I want to have a gift delivered to my friend’s room. How do I arrange this?

Whether you want to drop off your own gift or buy a gift from us, we’d be happy to make the arrangements to have it delivered to your friend’s room while they’re here.

Hotel gifts may include, select wines, beverages, chocolate covered strawberries, FGH Birthday Cake, Cheese Board, and more.

What are the minimum age requirements to attend events at The Fort Garry Hotel?

Our entertainment venue – The Club Room – is home to Yuk Yuk’s Winnipeg and Jazz Winnipeg Concert and Residency series.

For Yuk Yuk’s Winnipeg shows, guests must be 18 years of age or older to attend.

For Jazz Winnipeg concerts, guests under 18 years of age must be with their legal guardian to attend.

 

I’m interested in taking photos in your hotel. How can I do that?

With the growing interest in taking photos and videos inside The Fort Garry Hotel, requests have been limited to ensure these sessions – whether professional or casual – are not intrusive to our guests and staff.

Therefore, for the privacy and comfort of our guests, unauthorized photo sessions are not permitted in public areas, and MUST be booked by our Sales Department at sales@fortgarryhotel.com

Does your hotel have a pool? I saw some photos online.

The Fort Garry Hotel does not have a pool.

The neighboring apartment building – Fort Garry Place – has the Assiniboine Athletic Club (AAC), located at the end of the walking bridge on the 1st floor of the hotel.

The AAC has a pool, as seen from the photos online. Fort Garry Hotel guests may access the pool at AAC for a drop-in fee of $10 per person, payable to the Assiniboine Athletic Club.

 

I have questions about what to see and do in the hotel and in Winnipeg. Who can I speak to?

The Fort Garry Hotel has a new Concierge Desk located on the Lobby Level towards the Upper Parkade.

From Tuesday – Saturday, our Concierge is available to plan your itinerary, make reservations and tell you all about our hotel and the city’s attractions. To reach our Concierge, email: concierge@fortgarryhotel.com

I may have left something in my room. Do you have a Lost & Found ?  

Yes, we do. Our Lost & Found is open 8am-4pm daily. Simply call our Front Desk team at 204 942.8251 and press ‘0’, and they will be happy to direct your call.

 

Do you have a restaurant in the hotel?

Yes, the name of our restaurant is Oval Room Brasserie. It is located in the lobby – as has been restored to its original 1913 look and feel with its beautiful ornate oval ceiling.

I’m trying to get a hold of Yuk Yuk’s Winnipeg. Do they have a phone number?

Yuk Yuk’s Winnipeg does not have a phone number. Do you offer a Military Rate?

Yes,  we offer Military Rates.

Booking online, our Military Rates can be accessed here  using the ‘Best Available’ drop down menu and choosing ‘Military Rate’. ID will be required at check-in.
